Mapping information provided by the EV Network

The e-max charging

E-max scooters plug into a basic household 3 pin socket so can be charged at home at work or via the ever increasing public access points. The e-max scooter has a charger unit that fits comfortably beneath the seat (see gallery for images) Charging times - expect a short top up to take an hour and a full re-charge around 3-4 hours.

Charging bays

More and more facilities are being put in place to cater for the electric vehicle owners and there are various companies and organisations that design, develop and advise on to what facilities are available. By the end of next year, about 1,000 of the bays are expected to be installed across the country, with 200 in London and smaller networks in other conurbations.

e-max scooters are built to last. The robust body and chassis were designed specifically for the purpose, as was the technology inside. All components are fully modular and the majority of which, such as the motor, batteries and controller, are completely maintenance free. Running Costs

  • On average an e-max scooter will cost 1p per mile to run
  • To see a cost comparison to other modes of transport click here
  • Full 12 month warranty on all components and 24 months on batteries and motor

Price

  • We offer a high quality, high performance electric scooter that, due to negligible running costs, is available at a price that’s affordable for the everyday commuter
  • RRP price - £2350 + VAT

Maintenance

  • An e-max scooter is easy to maintain
  • The brushless hub driven motor has no internal moving parts and therefore needs no maintenance
  • The controller and converter are built into to the centre of the scooter and control the electronics. They are fully durable and completely modular
  • The batteries like to be topped up with juice as often as possible. Under average conditions, the batteries will stay at full capacity for up to 1000 charges at which point they will simply gradually reduce
  • All other components are largely common to all scooters eg. Brakes, tyres etc. and so can be checked by any certified scooter mechanic

Riders Requirements

e-max electric scooters have a top speed restricted to 30mph, so as to be categorised as a ‘moped’. This means if you obtained your full car license before 1 February 2001 you are automatically entitled to ride a moped without L-plates.

Breakdown Cover

For an ethical breakdown cover provider we recommend the ETA - the world’s only carbon neutral motoring organisation.

Insurance

We are constantly updating our recommended insurers. Due to the infancy of the product the larger online insurers may not insure the scooter yet. Luckily there are many that do, including:
